Netherlands
If you try to visualize Amsterdam,
think of it as Venice for bicycles.
You feel very guilty when you drive a car.
Contrary to my expectation,
the police did not catch me upon leaving the country
steering a fully loaded truck with a ton of payload
but instantly upon entering:
I changed lanes on the highway when I noticed something colorful
stuck between my rear bumper and the highway separator.
Needless to say, it was an angry police officer.
Must have ridden his bike way too fast.
Then, one very late night, when looking for a place to stay in the outskirts of Den Haag,
I had accidentially switched my lights off.
To be honest, I was driving on
[GPS] anyway, blindly following the arrow to the next hotel.
— I was pulled over instantly.
The officer asked something like
"How can you come to the Netherlands when you don't speak Dutch?".
After that, we warmed up a bit.
