MCC smart roadster on the Stuttgart radio tower
"They say the Germans don't have lifts? Is that true?"
"Nah, not quite. They have two — one in Stuttgart, the other in Berlin."
Thomas Kaufmann
or: "Now roll up the sleeves, let's find a workaround! A Tower Drive-In!"

Degerloch, Germany, 20. May 2004
On Ascension + father's day 2004, the high wire artist and stuntman Johann Traber
will drive up the public Stuttgart radio and tv tower
high above the Neckar valley on two steel ropes
with an MCC Smart Roadster, thereby creating a new world record.
The smart roadster will drive up to a height of approximately 100 meters
on two parallel steel ropes which are fixed below the restaurant area.
Total span of the drive will be an approximate 300 meters.
The Smart car would have wished for a higher end point,
however the tower's architects had to refuse that
after analysing the tower's structure.

Note:
- The Neckar valley and its surrounding area is the home of some of the major German automobile manufacturers,
namely ]DaimlerChrysler[
(holding Mercedes-Benz), and
]Porsche[.
The MCC smart car can be seen as a newly branded "Lego vehicle" plugged together from DC + Mitsubishi parts, besides others.
- Stuntman Traber has worked with the legendary Evel Knievel
on such films as the 1979 James Bond blockbuster "Moonraker".
